AltIndex Overview
AltIndex aims to provide traders with a completely new way to research and pick stocks that they should invest in.
While the majority of traditional stock research platforms use familiar information such as revenue, earnings, analyst estimates and historical performance, AltIndex supplements these data points with a massive amount of alternative data to provide a much more detailed overview of a company and its stock.
Through the power of AI, the platform analyzes your entire portfolio, allowing you to see how the model ranks each stock that day, and an AI analyst can then help you go deeper into each of your holdings for even better insights pulled directly from all the data points.
All of this makes AltIndex a great and easy way to track vast amounts of real-time information without having to do tons of manual research.
AI Stock Picks

This is the core feature of AltIndex’s platform, and what most retail investors reading this review will be interested in.
With the AI Stock Picker feature, the company’s model scans more than 10,000 alternative and financial data points for each stock in your portfolio.
For example, the model tracks things like website traffic, hiring activity, insider transactions, news sentiment, social media mentions and many other signals that can indicate changes within a company much earlier than they’d show up in an earnings report.
AltIndex then uses AI to analyze all the financial and technical information alongside all those datasets to create something the company calls an AI Score, which is an easily understood 0-100 score for each company.
If the score is higher, the overall signal is more bullish, while lower scores indicate a bearish signal by the platform’s model.
AltIndex also stands out from most other similar platforms as it is not primarily focused on day trading. The stock picks here usually have an investment horizon of between 3-9 months, making the service more suitable to investors that hold positions for at least a few months.
The company lists some of its previous picks and the performance metrics since those picks, showing that its picker has had a 70% win rate and a 22% average return over a 6-month holding period.
However, the company itself explicitly points out that past performance is never indicative of future results, so these recommendations that the picker suggest should always be treated as another research tool rather than a guaranteed trade signal.
Stock Alerts
AltIndex also offers real-time stock alerts built around the same alternative data used by its AI model.
Through the power of the vast pool of alternative data information that the platform tracks, it doesn’t just simply notify you when a stock in your portfolio reaches a certain price, but rather sends you an alert when one of the thousands of signals moves outside its normal range.
For example, the platform will alert you of noticeable changes in things like Reddit mentions, web traffic, social media growth and other underlying signals, with Premium members receiving these alerts on the dashboard, by email or by push notifications on the mobile app, with most alerts being delivered mere minutes after the underlying signal is detected.
You also have the ability to pick and choose which companies you want to follow, and which signal types you want to be alerted about.
AltIndex Stock Screener

If you prefer doing stock research yourself, AltIndex features a solid stock screening tool, covering more than 3,000 publicly traded companies.
This tool once again stands out from other similar products due to the fact that the AltIndex platform has such a wealth of alternative data, allowing you to compare companies in more different ways than what you would traditionally see.
AltIndex allows users to check the top 10 stocks for free, while both the Starter and Pro subscription plans allow access to the unlimited stock screener that lets you compare all of the thousands of companies it tracks.
The tool features signals like web traffic, Reddit mentions, LinkedIn employees, hiring, app downloads and more.
You can also filter results by industry and compare how individual signals have changed over different periods, making it one of the more useful tools available on the platform.
AltIndex Autopilot
If you want a more hands-off approach to investing, and would rather follow a portfolio rather than building your own, AltIndex has you covered as well.
The platform currently features three different Autopilot portfolios to choose from: AI Top 10, Reddit's Favorites, and Robotics Infrastructure.
The first option is the one most embedded into the company’s platform, as it invests in the top 10 stocks that are currently holding the highest ranking according to AltIndex’s AI model.
Reddit’s Favorites focuses on small and mid-cap sized companies gaining traction among investors on Reddit, while the Robotics Infrastructure targets businesses that supply robot manufacturers and AI data centers.
Each strategy holds 10 stocks and is rebalanced monthly.
An important thing to keep in mind here is that AltIndex does not execute traders or manage your funds itself, but instead partners with a separate company called Autopilot Advisers.
AltIndex does advertise strong historical returns for all three of these automated portfolios, but we must note that all the figures shown are based on 24-month hypothetical backjtests, and the company itself states that the simulations don’t account for fees, taxes and trading costs, while also noting that the backtest period has not included a full bear market or recession.
We’d certainly recommend these automated portfolios for those investors that want to use the power of AltIndex’s data more passively, but just keep in mind that the actual quality of the service will show itself over time, as it builds a longer real-world track record.
Other Research Tools

AltIndex offers several smaller research tools that complement its main features.
The Trending Stocks section can help you identify companies that are trending across all major social media platforms, as well as those trending by insider trading activity, price and volume, and meme, crypto and penny stocks.
AltIndex also features a nifty stock comparison tool, through which you can compare companies side-by-side. Additionally, the platform features an earnings calendar, Congressional trading data and sentiment tools like the Fear & Greed index.
With the Pro plan, more advanced users can access all the AltIndex data outside of the main platform. With the API access, you can integrate this data into your own models, research workflows or spreadsheets.
The company also offers an MCP server to its Pro subscribers, allowing its data to be available directly inside compatible AI tools.
More advanced users can also access AltIndex data outside of the main website.
API access and export tools are included with the Pro plan, allowing users to integrate AltIndex data into their own models, spreadsheets, or research workflows.
The company also offers an MCP Server, which is designed to make AltIndex data available directly inside compatible AI tools.
AltIndex additionally provides dedicated data solutions for institutional clients, including funds and ETF providers, although these services sit outside the scope of this review.
AltIndex Pricing
While the free account provides access to some of AltIndex’s basic features, the paid subscription plans are what unlocks the full power of the platform.
The Starter plan costs $29 per month, or $199 for an annual subscription, which cuts down the overall monthly cost significantly and is something that we’d advise as a better option if you’re looking for a more long-term solution, especially since the price here is more affordable than many similar services.
The plan includes a portfolio with up to 10 stocks, top 25 AI stock pics as well as access to stock alerts, AI portfolio insights and an unlimited stock screener, making the Starter plan a really solid choice for the majority of investors.
The Pro subscription plan costs $99 per month, or $499 with the annual subscription, once again cutting costs by almost 60% compared to the monthly subscription.
The Pro plan is much better suited for active investors that need access to more advanced features and unlimited stock picks. It includes portfolios with up to 100 stocks, an AI chatbot, API access, export tools and priority support.
AltIndex processes subscription payments through Stripe and accepts major payment cards. Subscriptions can be canceled before the next billing cycle.
Our Verdict
All in all, AltIndex is a great new addition to the stock research space, offering a completely new way of analyzing stocks and companies, with an impressive amount of data and insights compared to more traditional apps in this market.
It is also highly competitive in terms of subscription prices, features a few fantastic additional tools and services, and is something that we can comfortably recommend, especially for more traditional investors that are looking to hold positions for at least a few months.
